Day 172: 78 Days
One thing I love about my school is the administration's total aversion to faculty meetings. We have a faculty convocation at the beginning or school and one at the end of school. All other communication occurs in faculty-wide bullet-point emails throughout the year. It's fabulous.
My principal sent one today with information about exams, graduation, and the end of the year. He ended the email with this reminder:
The English teacher next door to me has a running countdown on her whiteboard - 6 days left, not counting today (because we got out of bed today and managed to get to school by 1st period, so the day is practically over. The hard part is done). Her students, like mine, are in the computer lab for the next week, so the countdown is just for her benefit. We can hang on six more school days. 78? We're just not there yet.
